Viburnum plicatum tomentosum Lanarth

Viburnum plicatum tomentosum Lanarth
Viburnum plicatum tomentosum Lanarth
(Dave and Dorothy Rodal allowed us to cut this viburnum in their garden.) Viburnum plicatum tomentosum Lanarth was raised as a seedling in the garden of P.D. Williams of Lanarth, Cornwall, England before 1930. What makes this particular form so useful is that it is basically sterile, producing very few fruits. An ideal candidate for adding to moss animal topiaries. Gardeners still get the beautiful double rows of floral heads along the tiered branches in the spring, and they still get the reddish fall color in the leaves. They do not feed the birds, but they also do not get unwanted seedlings. The inflorescences are very showy with individual sterile florets up to 2 inches across. This is a large, showy shrub that has stood the test of time. Seasonality is Mid to late May. Measurements are around 10 feet x 10 feet Colors are White flowers Hardiness Zones: 5, 6, 7, 8
Price: $25.00
