Viburnum opulus Aureum

Viburnum opulus Aureum
Viburnum opulus Aureum
Ultimately this becomes a large deciduous shrub, round in shape with dense arching branches. In ten year's time, the shrub measured 8 feet tall and 4 feet wide in our garden. The 3 lobed leaves are irregularly toothed along their margins. An ideal candidate for adding to moss animal topiaries. They measure 2 to 4 inches wide. When they are young, the leaves are bright yellow. If the shrub is grown in too much shade, that color will deepen to green. It is often advised that Viburnum opulus Aureum should be planted in all morning sun and afternoon shade in order to maintain its glowing color. The flowers are very similar to white hydrangea flowers with tiny fertile flowers in the center surrounded by larger, showier sterile flowers. The common name European cranberry refers to the beautiful red fruits which are especially lovely against the yellow foliage. Seasonality is Late spring. Measurements are around 8 to 10 feet x 10 feet Colors are White flowers Hardiness Zones: 5, 6, 7, 8
