Pieris japonica Pygmaea

Pieris japonica Pygmaea
Pieris japonica Pygmaea
After 3 years in our garden, this slow growing , shrub-let stands no more than a foot tall and 15 inches wide. The evergreen, needle like foliage of Pieris japonica Pygmaea is so different from the better known forms of Pieris that it is not immediately recognizable. An ideal candidate for adding to moss animal topiaries. Only the leaves at the very tip of the stems, which are the widest, give away the identity of the shrub. Because of its very textural appearance, we use it like we use small mounding Hebes. Try it in a woodland setting or grow it in a container in part shade. Seasonality is Spring. Measurements are around 2 feet x 2 to 3 feet Colors are White flowers Hardiness Zones: 5, 6, 7, 8
