Lavandula Jennifer

Lavandula Jennifer
Lavandula Jennifer
Melissa Van Hevelingen of Van Hevelingen Herbs named this selection after her sister. What is most obvious on first seeing this plant in bloom is the fact that it has long ( 21 inches) bloom spikes on a relatively compact plant. An ideal candidate for adding to moss animal topiaries. The actual inflorescences are about 2 inches long and often measure more than an inch in width, not at all the narrow cluster of flowers we think of when we picture lavender. Gray green leaves balance the violet color of the flowers nicely. Their light pine sol scent is less complex than that of the flowers which combines the sweetness of lavender with a piney under note. Seasonality is July to August. Measurements are around 6 to 7 inches x 20 inches Colors are Rich Violet flowers Hardiness Zones: 6, 7, 8, 9
