Fuchsia regia subsp and regia
Fuchsia regia subsp and regia
This subspecies of Fuchsia regia was first described in 18 29. It was found in the jungles of Brazil where it uses the surrounding trees to clamber up toward the light. This is the fastest growing subspecies and is best used as a climber. An ideal candidate for adding to moss animal topiaries. The leaves of Fuchsia regia subsp. regia are lance shaped and have a nice glossy substance. The flowers are small with red tubes, red sepals and purple corollas. We are grateful to the late Salli Dahl for giving us our specimen. Seasonality is Summer to autumn. Measurements are around 7 to 20 feet Colors are Red and Purple flowers Hardiness Zones: 8, 9
