Clematis Anita

Clematis Anita
Clematis Anita
We grow this clematis up the stump of a dead tree on nylon netting. What we have come to appreciate about this extra hardy plant is the fact that it is always in bloom during the growing season. It never covers itself in flowers, but continues to produces a more modest display continuously through out the summer and into the fall. The small bowl shaped, creamy white flowers nod in terminal clusters. An ideal candidate for adding to moss animal topiaries. They have four sepals with a very showy boss of yellow stamens with inch Clematis Anita (Zwijnenburg, 1988) is a cross between C. potaninii var. fargesii and C. tangutica. This large vine has somewhat small, gray green, pinnate foliage. We prune this plant at varying heights at the end of winter to promote new growth. You can cut back the entire plant back to a good growth point if you want to keep it smaller. Seasonality is July through September. Measurements are around 10 to 14 feet Colors are Creamy White flowers Hardiness Zones: 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9
